Bonnard at Le Bosquet
A second hand richly illustrated book all about the Villa du Bosquet and the paintings that the artist Bonnard created there
In 1926 Pierre Bonnard bought Villa du Bosquet with its panoramic view of the Estérel mountains and the bay of Cannes. It was to become the house where he spent the longest periods of time until his death in 1947. It was also the location of some of his most famous paintings: the series of his wife, Marthe, in the bath and extraordinarily vibrant paintings of his garden and the immediate surrounding area, which captured the colours and textures of Provençal landscape.
This book includes 40 colour plates and 76 black and white illustrations of the Villa du Bosquet and the paintings he created there. It also includes essays on the artist and an extensive catalogue by Sargy Mann, the painter and Belinda Thomson, the art historian.
