Hans J. Wegner: Just One Good Chair
'a testament to how design can reinterpret a single object in near infinite ways' - Fast Company
A well-produced book telling the story of Wegner’s life and career, with drawings, photos and models of 500 of Wegner's designs.
Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) was one of history’s most prolific designers. Throughout his life, he produced a total of over 500 chairs, some of them now recognised as classics, such as the Round Chair (now simply The Chair, 1949), the China Chair (1943) and the Flag Line Chair (1950). Referred to as 'The King of Chairs' – or just the 'Chair Maker', Wegner created furniture that paved the way for Danish design’s international breakthrough in the years after World War II.
This book - and the Designmuseum Danmark 2014 exhibition it accompanied - tells the story of Wegner’s life and career, with drawings, photos and models of 500 of Wegner's designs.
