Guided by the idea of democratizing access to art, he has founded three art centers in the northern Ghanaian city of Tamale since 2019. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"redstrong\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFor his exhibition at the Fondation Cartier, Mahama will create site-specific installations, alongside other invited artists: Dorothy Akpene Amenuke, Gideon Appah, James Barnor, the Cercle d’Art des Travailleurs de Plantation Congolaise (CATPC), Courage Dzidula Kpodo \u0026amp; Postbox Ghana, Zohra Opoku, Tjaša Rener, and Feda Wardak. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"redstrong\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eRichly illustrated, the publication accompanying the exhibition will offer an in-depth exploration of Mahama’s collective, educational, and community-based practice and vision, developed through his artworks and art centers. Highlighting the similarities between his approach and that of the artists he has invited to take part in the exhibition, it will shed light on the connections between the Ghanaian art scene and other regions of the world.
