This catalogue accompanied the 2011/12 exhibition at the British Museum in which the British Turner Prize winner, Grayson Perry curated an exhibition of objects from the British Museum that have inspired his art. The exhibition won the 2012 South Bank Sky Arts Award for visual arts. 

Using artefacts including 17th century Staffordshire plates, an Egyptian soul horse, magic nails and 20th century Japanese photographs of drag kings and queens, this lavishly illustrated and beautifully produced book explores craftsmanship and artistic themes across millennia. 

Including an introduction by Grayson Perry, this book is a thought-provoking and enjoyable insight into Perry's interests and influences and provides a fresh look at the British Museum's permanent collection.
