A second-hand book of Alberto Morrocco's vibrant late paintings - the companion book to an exhibition at the Scottish Gallery in 1996

Alberto Morrocco (1917-1998) was one of the most dominant figures in the Scottish art world in the second half of the 20th century. Born in Aberdeen to Italian parents in 1917, he attended Gray’s School of Art from the age of fourteen, tutored by James Cowie and Robert Sivell.

A superb draughtsman and a very able and perceptive portrait painter, he is renowned for his still-lifes and his individual and intensely coloured figurative paintings.

This book, which accompanied a show at the Scottish Gallery in 1996, is a collection of Morrocco's late paintings. It includes an essay by Dr John Morrison, a plate section with full page illustrations, a biography, list of exhibitions and a selected bibliography.
