Regular price £45.00'A masterclass on Impressionist and Modern Art' - HypeArt
The catalogue for a landmark exhibition of Russian avant-garde, French Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and Modern paintings acquired in the early decades of the 20th century by a wealthy Russian industrialist family
The Morozov Collection is another incredible collection of paintings by French impressionists and modernists which had been nationalized following the 1917 Russian Revolution, then divided between the Hermitage in St. Petersburg and the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow. The collection includes many paintings by great masters such as Renoir, Picasso, Monet and Matisse, but also emerging artists of the Russian avant-garde.
The Morozovs were one of the main families that dominated Moscow's cultural life at the beginning of the 20th century, invented the concept of artistic philanthropy and directly contributed to the international recognition of French modern painters. This collection is presented for the first time outside Russia in October 2020 in a single exhibition in Paris at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, with the partnership of the Russian museums: Pushkin, Hermitage and Tetryakov.
