A richly illustrated monograph of installation artist, Rebecca Louise Law's work and artistic process

Rebecca Louise Law (b. 1980) is considered one of the foremost international installation artists. She creates large-scale, immersive, sensorially engaging works from dried natural materials that combine traditional techniques with contemporary installation strategies.

These works create atmospheric spaces in which the transience, beauty, and complexity of nature are immediately palpable. A key feature of Law’s artistic process is her close collaboration with local communities. Plants are cultivated, harvested, dried, and processed through manual labour.

This catalogue accompanies the monumental exhibition project of the same name, for which Law created new, overwhelming spaces at four locations in northern Germany. The installations raise awareness of ecological interconnections without being didactic and open up horizons that make the close bond between humans and nature tangible. The publication features impressive photographs of the four exhibition sites and offers the first comprehensive introduction to the artist’s work.

The exhibition runs at four venues: Museumsinsel Schloss Gottorf, Reithalle Gottorfer Globushaus, Freilichtmuseum Molfsee, and Jüdisches Museum Rendsburg, until November 1st 2026

Text in English and German.
